The network is designed to supply electricity to the energy-poor region of Ladakh during the winter months and to transmit surplus electricity during the summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Important Highlights: This was the first project undertaken by the Power Grid Corporation of India in which components had to withstand temperatures as low as \u201340 \u00b0C.
