Innovative Solutions for the energy transition in Germany.

The SuedOstLink is one of the key projects of Germany’s energy transition. The ±525 kV HVDC line will transport up to 2,000 MW of wind power from the north over a distance of approximately 540 kilometers to southern Germany—from Wolmirstedt in Saxony-Anhalt to the site of the former Isar nuclear power plant in Bavaria.

For the first 18 kilometers of the overhead line, MOSDORFER developed customized DC and V-string assemblies between 2023 and 2024 on behalf of 50Hertz. This included:

In July 2025, Mosdorfer received the contract to supply fittings and composite insulators (contract value approx. €1 million). Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2026.n.
